Strategic areas
Considering:
- the areas of knowledge and the R&D+I capabilities of the involved partners;
- the potential in terms of business dynamics;
- the driving forces of the market, particularly those associated with the intensive use of the ICTs as an instrument for the innovation of processes and management, aiming at the increase of the reliability of the decisions, and suiting the growing pressure on the rationalization of costs;
- the public stimuli (the known and the expected);
the Health Cluster Portugal elects the following as strategic areas:
- well-being / ageing;
- prevention and treatment of diseases (neurodegenerative, cancer, cardiovascular, osteoarticular degenerative, inflammatory, infectious, metabolic);
- e-health (AAL - Ambient Assisted Living, automatic/integrated information processing – management, auxiliary means of diagnosis, imagiology, ...);
assuming as structural the aspects related to:
- translational research;
- technology transfer;
- intellectual property.
