"Early-stage cancer treatment, driven by context of molecular imaging (ESTIMA)"

The ESTIMA project aims to develop techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of the current approach to the treatment of early stage esophageal cancer through the establishment of molecular and image biomarkers able to predict the complete response to the treatment. The final goal aims to determine the criteria for surgery, and if it can be avoided in some cases, which is currently applied to 100% of patients after treatment with adjuvant chemo-radiotherapy (QTR).
